Fifteen months after the original ‘I Love My Mac’ by Daphne Kalfon was released to a polarised Mac audience, UK artist ‘No Flies On Pie’ releases an upgraded re-imagination of the quirky Mac novelty song. This time it has widgets and a rap. Can you dig it?

AN INTERVIEW WITH ‘NO FLIES ON PIE’

“I’d stumbled upon this fun little song, ‘I Love My Mac’, whilst killing time on the web and was immediately hooked. I thought this fun little tune could be interpreted in so many different ways. So I started plotting my own take on it.”

“The original has a polarizing effect on people. You either love it or loathe it. But that is the nature of a novelty song. I thought maybe we could come in a little under the radar and take a more contemporary approach to help reduce the ‘Marmite’ effect.”

“Ultimately, this is still a Mac novelty song and we’ve still had some fun with it. The great thing about a novelty song is that you’re allowed the freedom of not being constrained to having to produce a navel-gazing, soul searching, emotionally resonant piece of music. It’s all about having fun. If we rile a few Windows users along the way - even better.”
